Mahahual& Banco Chinchorro
Five dives across two of Mexico’s most spectacular Caribbean destinations: the Mahahual reef and the Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve — the largest coral atoll in North America. Plus a day trip to the Bacalar Lagoon.
Itinerary
Morning flight from Mexico City to Chetumal airport. On arrival, private van transfer to Mahahual (approx. 1h 50 min). Check-in, gear check and group welcome briefing.
Three dives on the Mahahual reef system: two morning dives and one afternoon dive. Outstanding visibility, depths from 9 to 18 meters, and abundant marine life. Evening free time on the boardwalk.
Early departure by speedboat to Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve, 30 km offshore. Two dives in a virtually untouched ecosystem: deep coral formations, large fish, sea turtles and the chance to encounter saltwater crocodiles in the cays. Return in the afternoon.
A day of active rest. Private transfer to Bacalar Lagoon (approx. 1 hour from Mahahual). Kayak or sailboat on the lagoon, free time to explore the town, and return to Mahahual in the afternoon. A perfect contrast between the open Caribbean and the turquoise stillness of the lagoon.
Morning check-out. Private transfer from Mahahual to Chetumal airport. Afternoon flight back to Mexico City.
