With Océano Profundo you take it from Mexico City: theory online through the NAUI online learning system, Confined Water Practice and open-water dives at Las Estacas Natural Park, Morelos. When you finish you earn the NAUI certification, valid for life worldwide.

What are the requirements for the Open Water course?

For the NAUI Open Water Diver course you need to be 12 or older, know how to swim and be in good general health. No previous diving experience is required. Before the dives you complete a standard diving medical questionnaire.

How long is the Open Water course?

The in-person part is completed over 3 days and 2 nights at Las Estacas, Morelos. The theory is studied online beforehand, at your own pace, through the NAUI online learning system. It includes the Confined Water Practice, the dives and the evaluation.

How deep can I dive with this certification?

The NAUI Open Water Diver certifies you to dive independently with a buddy down to 18 meters, within the limits of your training. It is the entry-level certification recognized worldwide.

What does the Open Water course with Océano Profundo include?

It includes the NAUI online learning system, lodging at Las Estacas, scuba equipment rental during the course, the Confined Water Practice, the guided dives, the evaluation and the international NAUI certification. It does not include transportation, meals or a personal wetsuit.

What comes after Open Water?

After Open Water you can continue with the Advanced Diver course, specialties such as Nitrox or night diving, and later Rescue Diver and Divemaster. You can also join Océano Profundo’s expeditions to destinations across Mexico.
